Endorsements for Egret Gospel

Click here to go directly to the EGRET GOSPEL website:
"Too rarely, my God-designed longing for beauty is awakened. Too often, I more clearly see yet-to-be-redeemed ugliness all around me and in me. Egret Gospel has opened the eyes of my heart to glimpse a preview of the beauty God will soon fully restore. Jennifer Johnson's rhythmic words and Theo Parker's stunning photographs of unspoiled beauty will do the same for you."

"In Egret Gospel, author Jennifer Johnson creates a compelling image of God's beauty and nature. I felt as if I were there, watching the egret spread his wings and soar, seeking the next audience to entertain and delight."

Egret Gospel... soon to be released

Dear Friends,

We are thrilled to share with you the fruit of our friendship and adventures during the late winter/early spring of 2011 in capturing one of God's most angelic creatures, the elusive egret. Inspired by Job 12:7-10, Egret Gospel will transport you to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where you'll be greeted by the Great Egret, combing the marsh for minnows and fiddler crabs. Inspired by many mornings on the porch of her parents' Harker's Island cottage, Jennifer's poem describes what it's like to, "eat breakfast with angels." Theo's stunning photos capture the spiritual nature of the egret and reflect her own wonderment of all of God's creatures. Let the wings of the egret welcome you, and celebrate with us the gospel truth of God's work.

Gratefully, Theo Parker and Jennifer Johnson

New Proper Use Projects Coming...

Jennifer and Marley have been busy bees, but this time, they are working on separate projects. We'll be sure to let you know when Marley's illustrations can be viewed and enjoyed in two more children's books with another author. Stay tuned...and don't forget to look up "Marley Ungaro" on Etsy.com to enjoy her other beautiful art and products in the meantime.

Jennifer has teamed up with photographer Theo Parker for the second installment in what we call, "The Proper Use Project," with the vision of using our unique, god-given wiring for its Proper Use, to bring glory to God. Theo has been a photographer for many years, and Jennifer recently discovered that she, too, loves egrets! So, a poetry and photography project is coming soon, with an arrival date of May 2011. Please pray for us and for the project??!

Here's a little teaser...

Egret Gospel
"My egret eats breakfast at morning,
in the marsh along the sound.
From covered porch, as day is dawning,
my eyes feast on holy ground..."

You'll have to read the book to enjoy and see the rest.

Our inspiration for the book:

"But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind." Job 12:7-10

Properly,

Jennifer

Book Presentations

Hello, everyone! We are so excited to still be in the business of spreading God's word through pictures and story. Currently, Jennifer is touring local preschools and elementary Christian schools and reading The Proper Use book with the help of poster-sized illustrations of Marley's artwork and a 5' sunflower. This week, Jennifer visited Christ Covenant School and St. James United Methodist Preschool. The kids were sooo sweet and responsive to the story. Jennifer also has a version of the presentation just for women's groups as well. (There are universal themes in the book about beauty, unity, busyness, and purpose that are absolutely applicable to adults. In fact, the presentation is an unexpected "visual" way to present such material and discuss the Bible verses included in the book.) If anyone is interested in having Jennifer come to your church or school to present the book, please let us know by emailing JenThinksInInk@gmail.com. Many, many blessings to you all! We soon hope to share a sweet message from a special little boy whom the book touched. Stay tuned!
